Libya Invites Russia to Explore for Oil and Gas

Libyan Oil and Gas Minister and head of the Libyan-Russian Joint Committee, Mohamed Aoun, has invited Russian companies to submit proposals to acquire land in Libya and begin oil and gas exploration. Aoun noted that "the National Oil Corporation of Libya is currently engaged in a general tender for all global companies, including Russian companies, to contribute to oil and gas exploration in the remaining unexplored areas of Libya, both onshore and offshore." He added: "We hope that Russia will achieve oil and gas discoveries in Libya and return to operate in Libyan territories."
