The White House expressed its condolences today, Wednesday, for those who drowned while trying to retrieve aid dropped from an aircraft into the waters off the coast of Gaza. Palestinian health authorities reported yesterday that 12 people drowned in an attempt to reach the aid amid growing fears of famine, nearly six months into the Israeli military campaign in the Gaza Strip.
