Saudi Foreign Minister: The Region is Turbulent, and We Do Not Need to Expand That

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan confirmed that the Middle East is in a state of turmoil and "we do not need to expand that." The Saudi Foreign Minister expressed the Kingdom's concern regarding tensions in the Red Sea and security in the region overall, noting that de-escalation in the Red Sea is a priority. During a discussion session at the World Economic Forum in Davos, the Saudi Foreign Minister stated that the war in Gaza is dragging the entire region into significant risks, emphasizing that there must be an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. He mentioned that "attacks in the Red Sea are connected to the war in Gaza." He also added: "We do not see any indication from Israel of stopping the war and escalation... Our priority is to find a path to de-escalation, which depends on ending the war in Gaza." The Saudi Foreign Minister stated, "The international community must do more to stop the war in Gaza," pointing out that "the ongoing suffering in Gaza will lead to cycles of escalation."
