Hebrew Media: Israel Rejected Hamas Conditions After Consultations in Cairo

The Hebrew newspaper "Maariv" reported on Thursday that Israel rejected Hamas's conditions for a ceasefire and the release of dozens of Israeli hostages held in the Gaza Strip, following several consultations in Cairo. While the newspaper stated that Israel refused Hamas's ceasefire terms after multiple discussions in Cairo, Sami Abu Zuhri, a Hamas leader, claimed that Israel "sabotaged" all mediation efforts to reach a ceasefire agreement in Gaza. Reuters quoted Abu Zuhri as saying that Israel is rejecting Hamas's demands "to stop the aggression, withdraw, guarantee the freedom of aid entry, and allow the return of displaced people." In the meantime, an Egyptian source reported that a Hamas delegation left Cairo for consultations, but discussions will resume next week, according to him. A responsible source stated to the Cairo News Channel that talks aimed at reaching a ceasefire in Gaza before the start of Ramadan are ongoing among all parties.
