What is the Truth Behind the Video Claiming to Have Found the Remains of Musa al-Sadr?

Hassan al-Shami, the rapporteur of the official follow-up committee on the case of the disappearance of Sayyid Musa al-Sadr and his companions, clarified regarding the circulation of a video titled "Finding the Remains of Musa al-Sadr." He stated that "this recorded footage dates back to 2011, and most importantly, it is false, as DNA tests conducted on those bodies and others have confirmed that they do not belong to us at all." He added in a statement, "Besides, it is useful to reiterate that we were confident of not being related to them; however, to prove the falsehood of those rumors, we pursued the matter to its end according to the proper standards, and our certainty was justified, as we are based on data that confirms that all these narratives are fabricated." Al-Shami pointed out that "al-Sadr and his companions were in detention for decades, and we still hope to find out where they are being held, which is unknown. At the same time, we do not hide or fear following up on any news, and we rely on internationally established scientific and legal standards agreed upon regarding enforced disappearances." A video clip circulated on social media claiming that "the remains of Musa al-Sadr have been found."
