Security Campaigns Against the Black Market in Egypt

The General Security Sector in Egypt, in collaboration with the General Administration for Combating Public Funds Crimes and the Directorates of Security, has launched security campaigns to tackle crimes related to the illegal trade in foreign currency and currency speculation. Efforts over the past 24 hours have resulted in the seizure of several cases of foreign exchange trading valued at approximately 37 million Egyptian pounds, and legal measures have been taken. These campaigns are part of ongoing operations targeting illegal foreign currency trading and currency speculation, which involve concealing such activities from circulation and trading outside the banking market, and the negative implications they pose for the country’s national economy.
