Israeli Officer Killed in Deir Bzeih Operation Near Ramallah

The Israeli army announced today, Saturday, the death of a sergeant from the "Commando" unit during the Deir Bzeih operation that took place yesterday, Friday, near the city of Ramallah in the West Bank. One officer and a soldier were seriously injured in the operation. Palestinians attacked a bus carrying settlers near the village of Deir Bzeih early yesterday morning, with the Israeli army reporting that one or more gunmen opened fire on the bus in a valley adjacent to the settlements of Dolev and Talmon, established on Palestinian village lands there. The Israeli broadcasting agency "Kan" reported that the attack resulted in 7 injuries, one of whom is in critical condition and two in serious condition. Israeli radio mentioned that 7 soldiers were injured in clashes with a Palestinian gunman that followed the attack on the settlers' bus.
