Interior ministers from Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan gathered in Amman today, Saturday, to discuss joint efforts to combat drug trafficking. The meeting focused on "enhancing cooperation in this regard to address the common challenges that pose a threat to the communities in the region, as this scourge has become one of the most pressing issues jeopardizing social peace." They also discussed strengthening areas of security cooperation to ensure the protection of the supreme national interests of the countries in the region. The meeting was attended by Interior Minister Mazen Al-Faraiah, along with his Iraqi counterpart Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, Syrian Minister Mohammad Khaled Al-Rahmun, and Lebanese Minister Bassam Mawlawi.
