Iranian President Massoud Bezhikyan on Friday called for an end to the war with the United States "today" while Iran is "in a position of strength," as he stated.
During a meeting with doctors in Tehran, Bezhikyan said, "It is better to end the war today while we are in a position of power and dignity, as the entire world acknowledges our victory."
He emphasized that "what has been achieved in the negotiations was a significant accomplishment approved by the Supreme National Security Council," adding that there is not a single clause in the memorandum of understanding signed with the United States indicating surrender, and all commitments pertain to the other party.
The United States and Iran announced ceasefire agreements in April and June aimed at restoring free navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and ending the conflict, but they quickly collapsed.
