Title: Erdogan Commits to Fortifying Turkish Military Bases

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan affirmed today, Thursday, that his country is moving forward with fortifying its new military bases by next spring to make them "impervious to terrorists." This statement was made during a speech delivered by Erdogan in front of a group of local leaders at the presidential complex in Ankara. The Turkish president addressed "anti-terror operations both inside and outside the country," mentioning the deaths of 12 soldiers in northern Iraq last week due to attacks by the Kurdistan Workers' Party on Turkish military bases in the region.

He stated, "We will not allow the blood of our martyrs to be in vain; 59 terrorists have been neutralized in our ongoing operations since December 22." Erdogan emphasized that "the Turkish army continues its security operations beyond the borders of the country, and we will not allow terrorists to defile our homeland." He stressed that "if terrorism has reached a dead end within our borders, the main reason for that is the operations we carry out in Iraq and Syria," adding, "We will continue our operations firmly until the last terrorist is prevented from posing a threat to our country and its people."
