Officials at Buckingham Palace announced today that King Charles III and Queen Camilla will attend the Easter service at the small church in Windsor Castle on Sunday. This will mark the king's first major appearance since being diagnosed with cancer in February. The officials stated that "Charles and Camilla will be accompanied by members of the royal family at St. George's Church." The event is expected to be smaller than usual, and it is not anticipated that Prince William and Kate, Princess of Wales, will attend, as she announced last week that she is also undergoing treatment for cancer. The king is currently receiving treatment and has suspended almost all of his public engagements since his diagnosis. Officials have not disclosed the type of cancer Charles is suffering from but confirmed it is not related to his recent treatment for prostate disease. They stated that "the king continues to conduct state affairs, including regular weekly meetings with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, and he will not relinquish his constitutional role as head of state."
