Ramos Saves Paris Saint-Germain with Late Penalty Against Rennes

Portuguese forward Gonçalo Ramos secured a point for Paris Saint-Germain, the leaders of Ligue 1, against the formidable Rennes at the Parc des Princes on Sunday, equalizing 1-1 with a penalty kick in the final moments. Rennes, which had the chance to extend its winning streak to seven matches, took the lead in the 33rd minute thanks to a strong run from Amine Gouiri, who shot into the top right corner. It appeared that Rennes was on track to earn three points before substitute Ramos scored from the penalty spot in stoppage time.

Kylian Mbappé, who has been linked with a transfer to Real Madrid, had a quiet evening, being substituted in the 65th minute. Nevertheless, the French national team captain continues to lead the Ligue 1 scoring chart this season with 21 goals.

Paris Saint-Germain, which has not lost in its last 18 league matches, has 54 points from 23 games. Despite the draw, the team remains 11 points ahead of second-placed Brest, while Rennes stands seventh with 35 points.
