The appellate criminal court in Sidi Bel Abbes, western Algeria, issued four death sentences and life imprisonment against the terrorist Bahri Djilali, known by the nickname "The Hungry Wolf," in five separate cases. The Algerian judiciary convicted the accused of five charges: "establishing an armed terrorist group," "disturbing state security," "premeditated murder," "destruction of state property," "creating terror among the population," and "assisting a terrorist group." The events of all five cases date back to the period between 1992 and 1996, during which Algeria witnessed widespread violence and terrorist activity. It is noteworthy that there have previously been 40 final verdicts against the terrorist known as "The Hungry Wolf," including death sentences and life imprisonment, for similar offenses related to establishing an armed terrorist group, disturbing state security, premeditated murder, destruction of state property, creating terror among the population, and assisting a terrorist group, in addition to the sentences issued on Sunday.
