A truck overturned at the Al-Kahala bend today, Thursday, reminding many of the previous truck incident months ago. As usual, residents of the area reported the truck being cordoned off by security personnel who were working to secure traffic after a heavy congestion in the area.
In recalling the previous incident, tensions rose at the Al-Kahala-Aalya bend after the truck overturned due to an overloaded cargo, which turned out to be transporting boxes of weapons and was linked to a political group. Following a gathering of locals to assist the truck driver, the situation escalated upon discovering the cargo, leading to the appearance of party members and the arrival of more than ten Lebanese Army vehicles, while the driver managed to escape. In response to the escalating emotions of the locals, the situation developed into gunfire.
