Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev threatened today that "Moscow will take revenge for the new sanctions that the West announced against it on the second anniversary of the Russian military operation in Ukraine and following the death of opposition figure Alexei Navalny in prison." Medvedev stated, "The reason behind the sanctions is clear; the worse the situation of Russian citizens, the better the situation of the Western world." He added, "We all need to remember this and take revenge on them whenever possible. They are our enemies."
