Moody's Adjusts Tunisia's Outlook from Negative to Stable

The credit rating agency "Moody's" has adjusted its outlook for Tunisia from negative to stable, affirming its rating at "CAA2". The agency stated in a report today, Saturday, that "the adjustment of the outlook to stable reflects the agency's view that the pressures facing the Tunisian government will not increase significantly."

Moody's added that "the relatively small local funding base in Tunisia and the lack of additional external financing from multilateral and bilateral partners are putting pressure on financing." It clarified that "the affirmation of Tunisia's rating at 'CAA2' reflects a high degree of uncertainty regarding funding sources, amid significant funding needs."

Moody's also predicted in its report that Tunisia's reserves may face potential drawdowns, but they will continue to cover imports for at least three months by the end of 2024.
