A Spanish press report indicated that the anticipated arrival of Kylian Mbappe, star of Paris Saint-Germain, at the Santiago Bernabeu has disrupted the Spanish team's plans regarding reinforcements for the upcoming season. Mbappe has informed Paris of his intention to leave at the end of this season, following the expiration of his contract on June 30, 2024, and he has been linked to a move to Real Madrid more than any other club.
According to the Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" on Friday, Real Madrid had planned to strengthen all areas of the team except the midfield. It clarified that the club wanted to enhance the goalkeeper position and has already started exploring the goalkeeper market. However, with Mbappe's imminent arrival, the white club will postpone its plans to acquire a new goalkeeper until next year.
Furthermore, the report highlighted that the defense was the area where Real Madrid intended to make significant enhancements, wanting to add a central defender along with a left-back and a right-back. However, with Mbappe's arrival, the club will have to offload one or more defensive reinforcements for economic reasons.
