Lebanese Army Arrests Suspects in Security Incidents

The Army Command - Directorate of Orientation announced that on January 28, 2024, a unit of the army, supported by a patrol from the Directorate of Intelligence, raided the home of the wanted individual (M.M.) in the Dhum and Furz area of Tripoli and arrested him for his involvement in the shooting of a citizen in the Minieh area - North, which resulted in his death. Additionally, a patrol from the Directorate of Intelligence arrested citizen (A.T.) in the Mina area of Tripoli after videos emerged of him firing a weapon on social media; he was found in possession of a military weapon and two pistols. Furthermore, a patrol from the Directorate, aided by an army unit in the Hara al-Naameh area - Mount Lebanon, arrested Palestinians (K.H.), (H.H.), (S.H.), and (A.H.) for instigating a disturbance in the aforementioned area, using sharp weapons, and firing shots, which led to injuries of 4 citizens. The seized items were handed over, investigations with the arrested individuals are underway under the supervision of the relevant judiciary, and efforts are ongoing to arrest the remaining involved parties.
