Aston Villa Coach Announces Kamara's Absence Until End of Season

Aston Villa coach Unai Emery announced on Friday that "midfielder Boubacar Kamara will be sidelined until the end of the season due to a torn anterior cruciate ligament, which represents a blow to the team's hopes of finishing in the top four of the Premier League." Emery told reporters: "When players get injured for a long time, that is the worst in football, and it is harder for the player personally when they get injured... He will return around September or October." The French player Kamara (24 years old) sustained a knee injury last Sunday against Manchester United and was substituted in the 65th minute during his team's 2-1 loss at Villa Park. Villa is currently in fifth place in the league, just one point behind fourth-placed Tottenham. Villa will face Fulham, currently in 12th place, at Craven Cottage tomorrow (Saturday).
