Trial Begins for 9 Accused of Selling Information to Mossad in Turkey

Turkish authorities have brought 9 individuals to court in Istanbul on charges of selling information to the Israeli Mossad. The Anadolu Agency reported that the nine suspects "were transferred to the court base at the courthouse in the Çağlayan district of the city." Investigations by the Istanbul Public Prosecutor's Office confirmed that the individuals are "suspected of having sold information they obtained to the Mossad through private investigators."

Last week, based on the prosecutor's investigations, the Intelligence and Anti-Terrorism branches of the Istanbul Security Directorate conducted a coordinated security operation in Istanbul and Izmir provinces, leading to the detention of 7 suspects, with the two other individuals previously arrested under the same investigations.

According to agency sources, "the Turkish intelligence agency learned that the Mossad was tracking its targets in Turkey through private investigators." The sources indicated that investigations uncovered "the Mossad carrying out activities such as collecting information on the biographies of individuals, reconnaissance, documentation through photos and videos, and surveillance, placing tracking devices on its targets via private investigators linked to it."
