Ambush and Arrest of a Motorbike Thief from Mount Lebanon

As part of the daily monitoring conducted by the specialized units of the Internal Security Forces to curb motorbike thefts from various areas in Lebanon, they were able to track an individual stealing motorbikes from multiple locations in Mount Lebanon. As a result of extensive investigations and inquiries carried out by the Information Branch, they identified the person in question who is known as M.A. (born in 1989, Lebanese) and has a criminal record for theft and drug use.

On 04-03-2024, after a precise observation and monitoring operation, one of the branch's patrols arrested him in a well-planned ambush in the area of Jieh. Upon searching him, a bag was found containing tools used for stealing motorbikes.

During the interrogation, he confessed to the accusations regarding his involvement in carrying out dozens of motorbike thefts using the tools found in his possession from various regions in the Mount Lebanon Governorate, including Jieh, Saadiyat, Hadath, Barja, and Choueifat. He stated that he sold them in the Sabra camp for amounts ranging from fifty to one hundred and fifty US dollars per bike and admitted to using drugs.

The necessary legal action was taken against him, and he, along with the seized items, was referred to the competent authority based on the judicial order.
