The visit of the official Libyan delegation to Beirut has made progress in the crisis surrounding the abduction and disappearance of Imam Musa Sadr and his companions, Sheikh Muhammad Yaqoub and journalist Abbas Badr al-Din, who were kidnapped and disappeared in Tripoli in 1978. It has also renewed movement in the case concerning the arrest of Hannibal Muammar Gaddafi. A Lebanese judicial source revealed to Al-Anbaa Kuwait that the Libyan delegation, which included Deputy Minister of Justice Ali Ashtawi, judges, and security officers, met with Lebanese Minister of Justice Henry Khoury, the head of the follow-up committee for the Sadr case, Judge Hassan Al-Shami, and other officials involved in the case. The source noted that the discussions were conducted with a high degree of honesty and positivity, helping to rebuild trust between the two parties. The Libyan delegation promised to respond to the messages sent by the investigating judge in the Sadr case, Judge Zaher Hamada, requesting information about 13 political and security figures from the former regime, including Abdel Salam Jlood, and to compel them to appear before Judge Hamada for questioning as defendants in the case.
