Ajax Amsterdam, competing in the Dutch Eredivisie, announced on Friday that "Serbian forward Dusan Tadic will leave the club immediately at his request." The 34-year-old striker joined Ajax from Southampton at the start of the 2018-2019 season. The Serbian international contributed to winning three league titles and two KNVB Cups. He played 241 games for the club and scored 105 goals. Tadic stated in a statement: "The decision to leave the club was extremely difficult. But I believe this is the right moment; I will forever be a player of Ajax and hope to return to Amsterdam soon in a different role as a coach." Feyenoord won the Dutch league title last season, finishing 13 points ahead of third-placed Ajax. PSV Eindhoven secured second place and claimed the other qualification spot for the upcoming Champions League.
