The Palestinian Authority for Prisoners and Released Prisoners Affairs stated today, Saturday, that "Israeli army forces have arrested approximately 7,505 Palestinians from the West Bank since the start of the war in Gaza on October 7." The authority and the Prisoners' Club clarified in a press release that "the data related to the cases of arrest includes those whom the Israeli government has kept detained, as well as those who were released later."
They added that these arrest campaigns "constitute one of the main, systematic policies used by the occupation forces, and are one of the key tools of the policy of collective punishment, which is also a central tool used by the occupation in targeting citizens amid the comprehensive aggression against our people and the ongoing genocide in Gaza since October 7."
Since Friday, the Israeli army has arrested at least 15 Palestinians from the West Bank, including former prisoners. Arrest operations were distributed across the provinces of Nablus, Tubas, Ramallah, and Hebron, accompanied by extensive incursions, severe assaults, and threats against detainees and their families, according to the authority, in addition to widespread destruction and damage to citizens’ homes, particularly to the infrastructure in Tulkarm province.
