Egyptian star Mohamed Salah stole the spotlight during his team Liverpool's match against Newcastle United (4-2) on Monday evening, in the 20th round of the Premier League. Salah scored two goals for the Reds, the first and fourth, contributed to the second goal, and assisted the third, leading his team to a valuable victory over Newcastle United at Anfield, taking them to the top of the league.

Salah bewildered his fans with his actions at half-time, after missing a penalty in the first half, which was brilliantly saved by Slovakian goalkeeper Martin Dubravka. However, "the Pharaoh" shone in the second half.

According to the British version of TNT Sports, Salah changed his shoes at half-time as a form of optimism, and afterward succeeded in scoring two goals in the second half, one of which was from a penalty.

Mohamed Salah himself narrated the story of changing his shoes, saying: "The first penalty I missed, I took it with one pair of boots, which I trained with the day before the match." He added, "It's not that I believe in superstitions through changing and using many shoes, but when I felt it would affect my head and focus in the match, I thought, okay, I will change my boots."

He continued in statements to British Sky Sports: "It's silly, but I didn't want to think about that missed goal in the second half, so I changed my shoes, calmed my mind, and focused on the match."

Regarding the victory over Newcastle, the Egyptian star said: "We missed a lot of chances; I missed a penalty in the first half, and then I thought: am I going to leave to the national team with this performance? That is not acceptable for me."
