Employees of "Alpha" and "Touch" Stop Work Starting Today

Employees of

The Union of Employees and Workers of Mobile Telecom Companies announced a work stoppage starting this Wednesday morning in protest against the failure to complete the disbursement of dues for employees who were not included previously.

A statement issued by the union stated: "Based on the meetings and communications that took place between the union delegation, the management of "Alpha" and "Touch", and the Ministry of Communications regarding the issue of completing the disbursement of dues for employees not included previously, the union wishes to confirm the following:

- First: All employees are equal in rights, duties, entitlements, and gains regardless of rank and salary, as stipulated in the collective labor agreement.

- Second: The process of evaluating employees and their performance has been carried out through the human resources departments of the two companies since their inception, using special evaluation systems with high standards (regardless of some areas that need development). This poses a serious threat to the structural foundations and framework of the two companies, constitutes a blatant violation of their internal systems, and threatens the continuity and development of the telecommunications sector, considering employees are its backbone.

- Third: The union considers the entry of any company to conduct evaluations instead of the human resources departments of the two companies to be unacceptable and regards this act as an insult to colleagues working in these departments, given their expertise and deep knowledge of all employees, their conditions, and performance.

- Fourth: The union has provided sufficient time and deadlines to achieve equality among employees in entitlements and has sought to propose many initiatives with all the well-wishers, but found no solutions, only more procrastination and wasted time.

Therefore, based on all of the above, the union finds itself compelled to announce a work stoppage starting Wednesday morning, 12/07/2023, and requests that all employees attend their workplaces and confirm their attendance."
