Scholz and Zelensky Discuss Options for Strengthening Air Defense in Ukraine

The German Cabinet announced that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky agreed during a phone conversation that more efforts are needed from Kyiv's partners to enhance Ukraine's air defense. Scholz informed Zelensky that Berlin would send another "Patriot" system to Kyiv. The Cabinet's statement noted that "Scholz confirmed that Germany will actively support Switzerland's initiative to hold a high-level international peace conference and will strive for the broadest possible global participation." German media reported on Saturday that Berlin decided to provide Kyiv with another type of "Patriot" missiles.
