Video - Elderly Paralyzed Man Assaulted in Turkey

In the Turkish city of Mersin, a brutal assault occurred against a paralyzed elderly man who was with his wife on a public bus. Numerous Turkish media outlets released a video showing a high school principal and his son violently attacking the elderly man, who lives with a pacemaker, suffers from kidney failure, and has partial paralysis on the right side of his body. The man and his wife were desperately trying to defend themselves.

The altercation began when the elderly man requested the principal and his son to get up from the disabled seating area, asserting his right to sit there due to his status as a vulnerable individual. The man became angry because the elderly man said to them in a commanding manner, "Get up from this place," which escalated into a dispute over the rightful use of the designated seating for the disabled.

The video, which surfaced yesterday, dates back to December 15 of last year in the central Tauruslar area. The incident ended with police intervention and the arrest of the principal, as reported by the Turkish newspaper "Hürriyet."
