This morning, the Chairman and General Manager of the Housing Bank, Antoine Habib, visited the Minister of Economy and Trade in the caretaker government, Amin Salam, at his office in the ministry, accompanied by the bank's legal advisor, Malik Arslan, to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between the Housing Bank and the ministry. After the meeting, Habib stated: "We discussed how the Ministry of Economy can support the Housing Bank to enhance funding sources in order to ensure the continuity of providing loans to individuals with limited and moderate incomes. It is worth noting that there is a stable funding source at the Ministry of Labor through the value of deposit certificates for the recruitment of foreign workers, both for individuals and offices." He added: "We discussed with Minister Salam the possibility of implementing this mechanism with insurance companies within the applicable laws, so that we can strengthen the Housing Bank's funding sources to provide additional housing loans for those with limited and moderate incomes. We assured the Minister that we would study this subject with insurance companies and brokers to understand the legal conditions for its implementation, as he supports the funding sources for the Housing Bank, both domestically and abroad." He pointed out that "the atmosphere of the meeting was very positive, and we will have further meetings with Minister Salam to follow up on these proposals and continue coordination regarding them."
