Following the bombing of a security headquarters affiliated with the Popular Mobilization Forces, Brigade 12, on Palestine Street in the capital Baghdad, a leader of the Iraqi Al-Nujaba Movement, known as "Abu Taqwa," was killed alongside one of his companions. According to the Baghdad Operations Command, Mushtaq Talib Al-Saedi, "Abu Taqwa," holds the position of Deputy Commander of Baghdad Operations. The command stated in a statement that "the Baghdad Operations Command for the Popular Mobilization Forces mourns the martyr, the Mujahid Haj 'Abu Taqwa' Al-Saedi, the Deputy Commander of Baghdad Operations, who was martyred as a result of treacherous American aggression."
The death toll from the bombing that targeted a security headquarters belonging to the Al-Nujaba Movement (Brigade 12 of the Popular Mobilization Authority), located near the Iraqi Police College on Palestine Street in Baghdad, has risen to two, including "Abu Taqwa," with six others injured. Security sources indicated that "the bombing targeting the security headquarters on Palestine Street in the capital Baghdad resulted in the death of a prominent leader in Brigade 12 of the Popular Mobilization Forces and his assistant, in addition to wounding six others." Security forces cordoned off the incident site, and ambulance sirens were heard rushing to the bombing location in Baghdad.
This bombing coincided with the preparations of Iraqi forces for the celebrations of the anniversary of the establishment of the Iraqi army. The Ministry of Defense stated in a statement that "fighter jets from the Air Force and the Army Aviation Command will fly over the capital Baghdad at low altitudes to conduct field exercises in preparation for the celebration of the 113th anniversary of the establishment of the Iraqi army."
