Completion of Lebanon National Team Roster and New Face Joins Training

The Lebanon national football team has completed its roster with the addition of players who missed the start of the closed training camp, which began last Tuesday in Tripoli under the leadership of Montenegrin coach Miodrag Radulovic. Goalkeeper Mahdi Khalil, who has been absent since suffering a shoulder injury during a friendly match against the UAE on October 17, has joined the squad. The defensive duo Alex and Felix Melki also arrived at the camp after returning from Sweden following a quick family visit after their local and Asian matches with their teams, Ansar and Al-Ahed, respectively. Additionally, winger Hassan "Soni" Saad, who came from the United States after the birth of his first daughter, has joined the team. The technical staff is also awaiting the final assessment of the muscle injury sustained by midfielder Jihad Ayoub, who decided to come to Lebanon for more precise tests apart from those he underwent in Indonesia, hoping to be part of the squad that will travel to the Qatari capital Doha early next month to begin the final preparations for the Asian Cup finals. Daily training sessions are being held in the afternoon at the Rachid Karamé Municipal Stadium in northern Lebanon, where expatriate player Jackson Khoury, who plays for Tormenta FC in the United States, participated. Khoury, born in Australia and 21 years old, plays as a right winger and previously visited Lebanon last year with a team made up of Lebanese-Australian players to play friendly matches. The technical staff currently focuses on conducting physical tests for the players and intensifying specific training related to tactical aspects in an effort to integrate them as quickly as possible, with only three weeks remaining until the continental tournament, where our national team will play the opening match against the host and defending champion Qatari team. Due to the expected bad weather tomorrow, Friday, in Tripoli, the media day has been postponed to Tuesday, December 26, while the training session will still take place at Rachid Karamé Municipal Stadium at 2:30 PM.
