An Egyptian player caused alarm among everyone when he suddenly collapsed without any contact during a match in the Egyptian league on Monday evening. Viewers of the match between Future FC and Al-Ittihad Alexandria were shocked when Ahmed Refaat, a player for Future, fell to the ground in the 91st minute without any collision and lost his speech completely.
Immediately, players and medical staff rushed to the player to determine the cause of his sudden fall, while fans watching the match called for an immediate end to the game and for the player to be quickly transported to the hospital. An ambulance took the player to the nearest hospital from the Al-Ittihad stadium in Alexandria for urgent examinations, while players from both teams remained in a state of shock and broke down in tears.
A medical source revealed that the player suffered a heart attack and his condition was unstable, confirming that his breathing response was slow after being placed on a ventilator to revive him and attempts to resuscitate him with shocks. The source indicated that the player would be transferred to a specialized heart hospital for further monitoring of his condition. Later reports stated that Refaat partially regained consciousness.
