The U.S. military announced early Thursday that it had destroyed four long-range drones launched by the Houthis, with no injuries or damages reported. The U.S. Central Command stated in an operations report from Wednesday: "The Central Command was able to identify and destroy four long-range unmanned aerial vehicles launched by Iranian-backed Houthi terrorists in Yemen."
The statement added: "These drones were targeting a U.S. warship, which in turn took defensive action within the Red Sea." It continued: "No injuries or damages to U.S. or coalition vessels have been reported." The statement concluded by saying: "These actions are taken to protect freedom of navigation and to make international waters safer and more secure for the U.S. Navy and commercial vessels."
