Army Commander General Joseph Aoun inaugurated a training center for medical simulation devices at the military medical facility, aimed at training doctors and nurses for various tasks related to healthcare provision. He also opened a biochemistry and immunology laboratory, which is expected to double the capabilities of central military laboratories in conducting precise laboratory tests. The project was funded through donations from supporters of the army.
The commander met with officers and military personnel in the medical facility, congratulating them on their achievements, which he considered a source of pride for the leadership. He noted that providing care for approximately 450,000 beneficiaries, making up about 10% of Lebanon's population, is a daily battle more challenging than traditional combat. He acknowledged the significant efforts made by medical personnel in this regard.
He expressed his appreciation, stating: "I see trust, determination, resilience, and steadfastness in your eyes every time I meet you, and this motivates me to continue the development of military medicine, which thrives thanks to the concerted efforts of the medical leadership and various personnel, including officers, military members, and medical staff, alongside the supporters of the army, whether they are states, friendly armies, or individuals who provide vital contributions due to their trust in the institution, its credibility, and transparency."
He added, "I appreciate your commitment, effective management, and sacrifices made in faithfulness to your sacred mission of serving our people. We will continue to work at our maximum capacity to elevate military medicine, as the army is well as long as the medical service is well."
