"Sovereign Blackmail" ... Qabalan: The Political Situation is Extremely Sluggish

The Grand Jaafari Mufti Sheikh Ahmad Qabalan stated, "There is no doubt that the country is in a state of war related to the essence of Lebanese sovereignty, and what the resistance is doing on the southern front is a supreme national interest, while the political situation is extremely sluggish, awaiting external interventions that are mostly at the expense of national sovereignty." He added, "Currently, the country is abandoned to vacancy, displacement, isolation, crime, chaos, and a non-Lebanese workforce amidst a glaring social catastrophe and political and governmental negligence, alongside American tools that exacerbate Lebanon's situation and work to drown the country in crises and disasters for purposes related to political and sovereign blackmail." He pointed out that "the condition of the state is unspeakable; there are no social, health, administrative, oversight, or economic responsibilities, amidst a vacancy that affects the core of public administrations due to the calamity surrounding public sector employees and the reality of political failure. Meanwhile, the struggle over Lebanon is intensifying the cycle of political crisis and its dangers, and without a presidential settlement, there are no solutions. Americanizing Lebanese solutions means the loss of Lebanon, and waiting for parliamentary elections places Lebanon at the heart of the most dangerous international game."
