Saudi Arabia.. Consultative Ministerial Meeting on Gaza with Participation from the UAE, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, and Palestine
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah called for a consultative meeting to discuss the developments of the Israeli war in the Gaza Strip. This meeting included Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar; Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates; Ayman Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Jordan; Sameh Shoukry, Foreign Minister of Egypt; and Hussein Al Sheikh, Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization and Minister of Civil Affairs.
The ministers emphasized the necessity of ending the war on Gaza, achieving an immediate and complete ceasefire, and ensuring the protection of civilians according to international humanitarian law. They called for the removal of all restrictions hindering the entry of humanitarian aid to the region and expressed their support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), urging all its supporters to fulfill their humanitarian responsibilities towards Palestinian refugees.
They also stressed the importance of taking irrevocable steps to implement the two-state solution and to recognize the State of Palestine along the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with relevant international resolutions. They affirmed that the Gaza Strip is an integral part of the occupied Palestinian territory and expressed their categorical rejection of all forced displacement operations.
The Saudi and U.S. foreign ministers also discussed, by phone on Thursday, the Gaza issue and efforts to address its repercussions.
