Lebanese Paralympic athlete Arz Zahreddine won a silver medal in the 100-meter race and a bronze medal in the 200-meter race at the fourth West Asian para (special needs) championship held in Dubai. With these achievements, Zahreddine added two more medals to his impressive international record, including a gold medal in the 200-meter race at the Francophone Games last summer in Kinshasa (Democratic Republic of the Congo), which was Lebanon's only medal in the Francophone competition. Zahreddine still holds the record in his category for both the West Asian and Arab championships.
During the West Asian championship, Zahreddine was honored as a professional athlete by Haidar Taleb Arbi, a member of the board of the International Federation of Persons with Disabilities and head of the regional office. Furthermore, Zahreddine continues his rigorous training for participation in the upcoming Summer Paralympic Games, which will be held next summer in Paris, hoping to achieve a new result in this major Olympic event, marking his second Olympic participation after the Tokyo 2020 Games.
It is worth noting that Zahreddine belongs to the "Let's Run" club and trains under the supervision of national coach Dr. George Asaf, a graduate of "Sports Academy School." Additionally, Zahreddine is preparing to participate in the "Khorfakkan International Games" in the UAE, scheduled for February 8 and 9, competing in the 100-meter and 200-meter races.
