Palestinian Foreign Ministry: Israel's Ongoing Aggression Against Al-Aqsa Will Ignite the Conflict

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry condemned today "Israel's placement of barbed wire on the wall adjacent to Al-Aqsa, and the restrictions on freedom of worship," asserting that "this will lead to igniting the entire arena of conflict," according to the Palestinian news agency "Wafa." In a statement, it strongly denounced "the Israeli occupation authorities' act of placing barbed wire on the wall adjacent to Al-Aqsa Mosque in the area of Bab al-Asbat, as well as erecting iron barricades in the streets leading to the mosque to obstruct the movement of citizens and prevent them from flowing in to pray at Al-Aqsa." The ministry also firmly condemned any restrictions imposed by the occupation authorities that limit worshippers' access to the mosque.

It indicated that "the measures of the occupation fall within the framework of the creeping judaization of Al-Aqsa and the entrenchment of its temporal division until it is spatially divided, if not fully controlled and destroyed to establish the alleged Temple in its place." The ministry confirmed that "the occupation's persistence in its aggression against Al-Aqsa is the shortest way to ignite the entire arena of conflict, leading it into a fire that is difficult to control." It called for "urgent and serious international intervention to stop Israel's encroachment on Jerusalem and its holy sites, foremost of which is Al-Aqsa," urging real pressure on it to retract its "judaization measures and to work on protecting Al-Aqsa from extremists and those who support them in the Israeli government."
