The organizing company for American rapper Travis Scott's concert announced its cancellation due to the controversy that arose over the past few days on various social media platforms. The organizing company wrote on its official Twitter account: "The show scheduled for July 28 at the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt has been canceled. Unfortunately, despite tremendous efforts, complex production issues have made it impossible to hold the event."
The company continued in its statement: "We understand that this news is disappointing, and it is not the outcome any of us hoped for. Refunds will be issued to all ticket holders at the point of purchase. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this cancellation may cause and appreciate your understanding. We remain committed to delivering exceptional live performances to audiences and hope to have the opportunity again."
For his part, Travis Scott commented on the controversy surrounding his concert, stating in a press release that his shows do not include any strange rituals, and he does not have a single song that offends any people, emphasizing his admiration for Egyptian culture and history. The 32-year-old Travis intended to launch his new album titled "Utopia" from in front of the pyramids.
In June, an American court dismissed criminal charges against Scott and five others regarding his responsibility for a crowd surge that occurred during a concert in 2021, which led to the deaths of 10 people and injured hundreds.
