An 11-year-old boy was seriously injured due to an attack by stray dogs in the town of Semel, west of Duhok province. The child was transferred to the emergency hospital in Duhok to receive necessary treatment. In several towns across Iraq, including the Kurdistan region, many parents fear for their children’s safety from attacks by stray dogs that roam the streets, roads, and near schools and residential areas. The phenomenon of stray dogs poses numerous health, environmental, social, and psychological problems, as some are infected with "rabies," a dangerous disease transmitted to humans through the nervous system, leading to rapid death. This makes it a priority for the relevant authorities to address this issue or mitigate its effects.
