Ministry of Health Condemns Attack on Health Center in Blida

A statement was issued by the media office of the Ministry of Public Health today, Friday, condemning "in the strongest terms the attack that directly targeted the Health Authority Center in the town of Blida, which resulted in the deaths of civil defense personnel and the complete destruction of the center, in addition to the destruction of a large number of ambulances belonging to the center."

The statement added, "The ministry reminds that this attack on a non-military health center is not the first of its kind since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on southern Lebanon, but rather it is repeated against multiple health centers in violation of international laws and norms, especially the Geneva Conventions."

The statement continued: "The ministry emphasizes the necessity of safeguarding health centers and health workers who are performing medical and humanitarian work that should not be interrupted or made a target in these harsh conditions, and that the continuation of these serious violations by Israel is a matter for the international community, particularly humanitarian international organizations, foremost among them the World Health Organization and the International Committee of the Red Cross, which stress their regulations and constitutions on the need to protect health workers and their centers and related transportation means."
