Ukraine: We Destroyed an Oil Platform Used by Russia in Its Attacks

Ukrainian special forces reported today, Tuesday, that "a group of its special forces blew up an oil platform in the Black Sea that Russia was using to extend the range of its drones." They stated in a Telegram message that "equipment on the platform was used for drones participating in attacks on critical infrastructure in Ukraine and for controlling the northwestern part of the sea." The forces added that "the operation, dubbed Citadel, took place at night and resulted in the seizure of important equipment from the enemy and the destruction of the platform." They noted that "the successful special operation provided safer movement for ships and reduced enemy capabilities in the northwestern part of the Black Sea." A video published alongside the statement showed forces landing on the platform at dawn, working inside it, then moving away as a bright explosion appeared in the background. Reuters was unable to independently verify the information. Moscow has not yet responded to a request for comment.
