The head of the "Tayyar al-Karama" movement and member of the "National Accord" bloc, MP Faisal Karamy, received the head of the Pharmacists Syndicate in Lebanon, Joe Salloum, along with Deputy Head Abdul Rahman Marqabawe and the head of the scientific committee at the Tripoli and North Lebanon Pharmacists Syndicate, Ayman Alam al-Din, at his residence in Tripoli. This meeting took place prior to signing a cooperation and integration agreement between the Pharmacists Syndicate in Lebanon and the Tripoli and North Lebanon Doctors Syndicate at the doctors' syndicate building.
Karamy and the attendees discussed the "conditions of the pharmacy sector in Lebanon, and the cooperation agreement between the Pharmacists Syndicate and the doctors' syndicate in the north, which is expected to serve as an integration agreement between the two sectors, and should be generalized to other syndicates and sectors," according to Syndicate Head Salloum. During the meeting, Karamy praised the "efforts of the Pharmacists Syndicate during the crisis since 2019 until now, and especially the efforts of Salloum in combating the smuggling of medicines out of Lebanon, and in ensuring continuous and constant access to medications, particularly for chronic diseases."
They also addressed the "problems and difficulties faced by the syndicate during the crisis, especially in the period leading up to the lifting of subsidies on medications, when Lebanese people suffered from a shortage of subsidized medicines due to some traders exploiting the crisis and smuggling medicines out of Lebanon."
