Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman held discussions today, Monday, with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken. The Crown Prince met with Blinken in Riyadh, where they reviewed bilateral relations, prospects for joint cooperation, and discussed regional developments and the efforts being made to ensure security and stability.
Blinken stated that he discussed with the Crown Prince the efforts to increase urgent humanitarian aid and ensure its delivery to those in need in Gaza. He affirmed that Washington will continue its diplomatic efforts to prevent the escalation of conflict in the region.
Blinken traveled to the Middle East on Monday for a new tour aimed at securing a ceasefire in the war between Israel and Hamas, while fighting continues in southern Gaza. This marks his fifth visit to the region since Hamas launched an attack on Israeli settlements on October 7. Blinken will stop in Saudi Arabia, Israel, Egypt, and Qatar during this trip.
Prior to the visit, Blinken emphasized the urgent need to respond to humanitarian needs in Gaza, as relief groups have repeatedly sounded the alarm regarding the devastating consequences of the war, which is approaching its fifth month in the besieged enclave.
