Manchester United player Alejandro Garnacho scored two goals after Rasmus Hojlund found the net on his 21st birthday, leading his team to a 3-0 victory over West Ham at Old Trafford, moving past the visiting team to sixth place in the Premier League on Sunday. After winning against Wolverhampton 4-3 last Thursday, coach Erik ten Hag's team now has 38 points from 23 matches, eight points behind fourth place. West Ham sits in seventh place with 36 points.
Hojlund scored in the 23rd minute when Casemiro played the ball forward after West Ham players failed to clear a high ball. The Danish player dribbled past two defenders before shooting from the center of the penalty area into the bottom corner. Hojlund, who didn't score his first league goal until December 26th, became the youngest player in United's history to score in four consecutive Premier League matches.
Garnacho doubled the score in the 49th minute after his shot from the right side of the penalty area took a deflection, sending substitute goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski the wrong way. The Argentinian scored his second goal in the 84th minute after Calvin Phillips lost the ball, allowing Scott McTominay to seize it and find Garnacho in the penalty area for a pass leading to the goal.
