Two Motorcycle Thieves Arrested

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division issued the following statement today, Saturday: "As part of the continuous follow-up carried out by the Internal Security Forces to limit motorcycle thefts in various Lebanese areas, information was gathered by the Information Division about two unknown individuals who, on March 8, 2024, stole a motorcycle in the Ashrafieh area. When the owner witnessed the theft, one of the thieves brandished a firearm at him and shot in his direction without hitting him, then they fled to an unknown location. A video of the incident was circulated on social media.

Following this, the relevant units within the division began field and investigative procedures to identify the perpetrators of the theft and shooting and to arrest them." As a result of intensive inquiries and investigations, the Information Division identified the suspects, including the shooter, who was identified as M.M. (born in 2003, Syrian). He has a criminal record involving drug offenses, hit-and-run incidents, and causing bodily harm, and there is a search warrant against him for theft and gunfire."
