Iraqi Health Minister Saleh Al-Hasnawi confirmed today, Saturday, that the Ministry of Health has an extensive plan to launch several health programs during 2024. A statement from the ministry noted that "Al-Hasnawi chaired a wide-ranging meeting at the ministry's headquarters, attended by deputy ministers, general directors, and department heads from health directorates in Baghdad and the provinces, as well as hospital directors." The meeting included discussions on several topics on the agenda aimed at improving the health sector and completing health projects. The Health Minister emphasized "the importance of focusing on primary healthcare services, ensuring the availability of medications, managing surprise audits, and the effectiveness of staff across various specialties." He stressed "the necessity of concentrating on occupational safety procedures, monitoring them, and completing and tracking the stages of health project accomplishments," noting that "familiarity with laws and regulations is a fundamental factor for the success of any endeavor." Al-Hasnawi clarified that "the Ministry of Health has an extensive plan for 2024 to initiate various health programs aimed at enhancing the health sector and rehabilitating, expanding, and completing ongoing health projects."
