Hamas leader Osama Hamdan warned that "if Israel carries out an operation in Rafah, negotiations will be halted." He added in a statement: "We have clearly stated that our position is negative regarding the current negotiation paper." In contrast, Channel 12 in Israel indicated that "the statements of Hamas leaders abroad should not be regarded as official positions of the movement."
