The Speaker of the Slovak Parliament, Peter Pellegrini, who opposed sending arms to Kyiv and won the second round of the presidential elections in Slovakia, promised that his country would stand for peace, not war. Pellegrini stated, "I will do my utmost to ensure that Slovakia, whether anyone likes it or not, stands for peace not war. Let anyone criticize me as they wish." He thanked the citizens of Slovakia for the trust they bestowed upon him, asserting that he would always defend the interests of the republic.
