The spokesperson for the Israeli army, Avichai Adraee, announced today, Tuesday, that fighter jets attacked two Hezbollah complexes in the Beqaa Valley deep in Lebanon last night. Adraee added that the targeted complexes belong to Hezbollah's air force, which he accused of "planning and executing various attacks towards Israeli territory." He pointed out that the airstrikes come "in response to Hezbollah's aerial units being activated towards the Golan Heights region in recent days."
A strike in Baalbek resulted in one death. Two Lebanese security sources and the governor of Baalbek in eastern Lebanon reported on Monday that at least one person was killed and several others wounded after Israel carried out four airstrikes on the city of Baalbek, which is considered the main stronghold of Hezbollah. The security sources stated that one of the strikes targeted the southern entrance of Baalbek, about two kilometers away from Roman archaeological sites, while three other strikes occurred between Tarya and Shmastar, approximately 20 kilometers west of the city of Baalbek.
